There is news that seems to be missing, and is that again on these dates we know that Movistar will undertake in February a new reform in its rates Fusion, with new improvements added but in exchange for a new price increase. According to advance Alienture and Xataka Móvil has been able to verify with the operator’s sources, Movistar already has a green light from the CNMC (which continues to monitor all its tariffs before being launched) to raise the price of a good part of the Mergers by five euros.
The excuse for this price increase is the recurrent one, to offer better services. Specifically, it will come hand in hand with the doubling of the speed of fiber connections, passing the basic 50 Mbps to 100 Mbps, while the higher of 300 Mbps will pass to 600 Mbps. It will not reach the symmetric giga that they already offer to customers. particular Vodafone and Yoigo, although in the minds of many is why you need so much speed.
The increase in the speed of the fiber connections will be followed by the increase in the gigabytes included in the Fusion +, Fusion + 2 and Fusion + 4. All the mobile lines of these Fusions, except the basic lines with 200 MB, will add to their data bonus two additional gigas, although in exchange for them their monthly fees will increase by five euros. The increase will not affect Fusion # 0, Fusion Series (released in summer), neither on the side of the data nor the price, although they will increase the speed.
20 euros more in less than three years
Movistar, like Orange and Vodafone, is accustomed to its customers to raise monthly fees periodically. The main package of the convergent offer is true that it has been gaining in services (more channels, more speed, more gigas in the main mobile line and the addition of a second basic line) but its price was 60 euros at the beginning of 2015, and by February 2018 it will be already at 80 euros per month, an increase of 33%.
The main problem is that the operators, in general, do not respect the signature of their customers. They offer improvements, but they can not give them up and they have to pay for those increases that are demanded in return. In the months surrounding the application of these price increases applied to all customers, the operator in question usually suffers a significant flight of subscribers, but what they pay more than those who, resigned or not, are compensated for that leak.
We are waiting for Movistar to confirm, point by point, the new conditions to apply from February, when it is also expected that the deployment of the new 4K decoder that a small group of customers are already testing will begin.
