Former journalist Tanya Lapointe launches a book about the underpinnings of Denis Villeneuve’s film Blade Runner 2049.
Tanya Lapointe, a former cultural journalist for Radio-Canada, became an author. For a few years now, the filmmaker Denis Villeneuve’s wife is presenting The Art and Soul of Blade Runner 2049.
The book of 219 pages, already among booksellers, proposes to interfere in the privacy of the filming. It contains unpublished photographs, details of the technologies used for special effects and other indiscretions to which the former journalist had access.
Tanya Lapointe and Denis Villeneuve came out in love at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. The journalist, struggling with a flagrant conflict of interest, then took a one-year leave from her job at Radio-Canada. The following year, she finally left her job at the state corporation to live her life with the man she loves.
Since then, Tanya Lapointe has become the personal assistant of her spouse director. That’s how she was able to write her book.
“When I knew that Denis was going to spend seven months in Budapest shooting the film, I offered to become his assistant. He said yes! “, Says the author to The Gazette.
Blade Runner 2049 is now a thing of the past, Tanya Lapointe is looking forward to her lover’s next project. Denis Villeneuve will shoot the remake of Dune, and be in discussions to shoot a film about Cleopatra and the next James Bond.
Whatever the movie, Tanya Lapointe is ready:
“The experience was very conclusive. I am very excited to be working on the next project… We are making a good team, “she concludes.
