For more than a year we have heard rumors about the possible return of the American supercar Saleen S7, and is that the not too well known firm Saleen Automotive, whose headquarters is located in Corona, California, wants to relaunch its brand of cars.
As announced at the past Los Angeles Motor Show, the company’s ambitious plan is to become a recognized manufacturer of luxury cars and sports cars in China, starting with a model called Saleen S1, although it is always good to revive a model already known as the S7 to start opening.
This renewal of the model that left production in 2009 is called Saleen S7 LM and it is a special edition “Le Mans” as a tribute, of which only seven units will be manufactured . It commemorates the 20th anniversary of a period of triumphs for the manufacturer, which between 1996 and 2002 won a dozen championships such as the Le Mans Series of Europe and America.
Brute force V8 biturbo
Like the original S7, this LM edition is based on an aluminum chassis and features an advanced aerodynamic kit developed in the wind tunnel that consists of a subtle rear spoiler, flat bottom or new heel poles, among other things. The forged wheels are monotuerca, competition style, and assemble tires in dimensions 275/30 / ZR19 (front) and 335/30 ZR20 (rear).
The seven cars will be manufactured at the Corona factory in California, and will hide a gigantic 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with a slightly higher power than 1,300 hp , along with a six-speed transmission that will send the force of the engine exclusively to the rear axle, through a self-locking differential.
In the cabin will have amenities such as a leather and alcantara upholstery, air conditioning, sports court seats, a digital tachometer in the central position or a speedometer that marks up to 240 miles per hour (386 km / h). Of course, to get one you prepare at least 1 million dollars.
