If one believes Apple’s memo to its employees, WiFi and cellular models will be removed from the list of devices supported in the coming days. The third-generation iPad dates from five years ago, so it’s not really a surprise to see it put away. Especially since Apple wants to promote its iPad Pro and the capabilities of the Apple Pencil.
For the third generation iPad, being obsolete means, according to Apple’s definition, that “Apple has ceased all hardware service for obsolete products, without exception. Third-party service providers can no longer order parts for obsolete products.”
In other words, official repairs will no longer be possible. No guarantee that an unofficial repairer can repair your precious tablet…
