Nothing is more frustrating than stumbling on a YouTube video targeted for a geographic block. And preventing you from reading it. Satanic copyrights ! A workaround would be the VPN . But today there is a much simpler option in the form of a browser extension.
According to TNW, Google Chrome was offering in its store an extension called “F * ck YouTube”. This one simply proposes to make disappear this geographical blocking. The only drawback is that you will need the URL of the video you want to watch.
In other words, if you search on YouTube, you will not see it because the platform only offers videos that are available in your area, but embedded videos or direct links will not be a problem.
The extension in question has been removed from the Chrome Web Store, possibly because of its name, or perhaps because the feature is considered to violate the Chrome Web Store policy. Always is it its creator, Alessandro Costa, intends to propose a version for Firefox Quantum. To be continued !
