The vaginal burning is more common than we think. Most of the time, it is due to vaginal infections and may be the case of vulvodynia.
It is characterized as a condition that presents inflammation and irritation of the vulva. Which can be confused with the vagina, but are two different areas. The vulva is the outside of the vagina and is composed of: the labia, the clitoris, the urethral orifice (where the urine comes out) and the vaginal opening.
According to studies published by St. Cloud State University, the United States, vulvar pain can appear for no apparent reason and present itself by some kind of friction, be it through tight clothing, running, riding a bicycle or even applying a tampon.
Sexual intercourse turns out to be very painful for women who have vulvodynia, friction can further irritate the affected area.
