Google has announced the redesigned design of Google Maps – in the coming weeks, search engine maps will begin to look different in mobile applications, web versions, search, Google Earth service and on automobile information systems Android Auto. The developers set themselves the task at the expense of various techniques to facilitate the perception of the card by the user.
Firstly, on new maps, information about objects will be displayed depending on the mode of use – search, car navigation or a trip on public transport. In the first case, the priority will be given to restaurants, shops and institutions, in the second – to gas stations and parking lots, in the third – to bus stops and metro stations. This approach will not overload the map, because if you display all the objects at once, it will be extremely difficult to find the required one.
The same task is served by a new color scheme in which different types of objects are indicated by icons of different colors, and the icons themselves become more informative. Orange is now marked on the Google maps of restaurants and cafes, blue – shops, pink – pharmacies and clinics, the color of the sea waves – objects of the entertainment industry and attractions, purple – banks and service enterprises, gray – state institutions and churches, green – parks and squares, and light blue – public transport.
