The idea that the role of the steel man was played by an actor of color would have seemed impossible just a couple of years ago. This is no longer the case, in fact Michael B. Jordan could be the new Superman.
On the morning of this Wednesday, everything was plagued with the news that Henry Cavill would not play this role again, and from this moment we all began to imagine who could replace him. A few minutes later, Deadline was already reporting that a source at Warner Bros. had revealed that they might consider ‘Black Panther’ actor Michael B. Jordan.
An anonymous source does not necessarily consist of a certainty, however it could be something that the DC Universe needs. After several failures, a black Superman could be something interesting, daring and new to audiences.
Interestingly, to get the role, Michael B. Jordan would come close to breaking the record for playing more comic characters. In his list are Johnny Storm of the most recent film of ‘Fantastic Four’ and Killmonger in ‘Black Panther‘.
